Exercícios de Técnica
Para Piano (Technical
Exercices for the Piano)
Professor Ondine de Mello, organized and revised by Luciano
Alves, preface by Nelson Freire. Published by Irmãos Vitale Editores
(1999).
Contains over
900 exercises on hold notes based on the diminished seventh
chord, in order to develop the independent movements of the
fingers, strengthening and broadening the hands, ensuring uniform
intensity and synchronism among the notes, intervals and chords.
Ondine de Mello
completed her studies in Germany with famous teacher and pianist Wilhelm
Backhaus. She then began to perform at many concerts and recitals in
Europe and Brazil. These experiences endowed her with an in depth
knowledge of repertoire, performance and technique, which she has been
passing on to her students for many years.
"...There
are no shortcuts for learning to play the piano, but there is no doubt
that using the methodology selected helps enhance the training and
qualifications of great pianists. This is why I recommend the book by
Ondine de Mello" - Preface by Nelson Freire.
